Do you ladies use any other oils? I was given a bottle of Grasshopper by Arcana Soaps and it's really quite lovely. It's kind of like Snow Bunny, but sweeter. Beth's sugar and vanilla can go plastic on me, and her chocolate goes straight to baby powder. I wonder if another oil maker would actually work better on my skin for the sweeter scents I like. So... I ordered two more bottles of* Arcana tonight.

Do you wear anyone else?

*I changed that to "of Arcana" instead of "from Arcana" because they are closed until Oct. 1st so I bought from other supplier

I'm completely overwhelmed by the TAL.

I need to do sooooooooo much research before I even try an imp of that stuff. /scared.

Any of you have good book recommendations? I may need to find a local group (I think it might be better that way -learning wise) but I squick easy.

**I used to do work like this too. :/ //rusty

Guys? Annabel Lee is the saddest smell I ever smelt. /kills self. I can't decide what to do with it. I like it, but wow.. it depresses the hell out of me. :/

Oh, and Wanda turned to hamster ass on my wrist. What? There isn't any civet in it, or so it says.. where are people getting the grape? I SMELL ASS!

I just ordered Startdust:

When the holidays roll around, not everyone has mistletoe, caroling and cookies on their minds. This scent is a paean to celebrating hard: nights covered in glitter and dusted with cocaine, flutes of Cristal clutched in shaky hands, leather and lace, the Spiders From Mars in the background, and twisting, sweaty limbs entangled in dark corners. Hairspray and cigarette smoke is the incense in this temple to decadence, strobe and mirrors replace the devotional candles, and Bolan sings the hymns. This scent is for everyone that has every drifted off into Quaalude-induced reverie to the beat of a tribal 4-on-the-floor: the sound of Mott the Hoople, Sweet, Slade or the Dolls. This scent reflects the futurism, self-indulgence and excess of the Glitter 70’s: champagne, hyacinth, tuberose, ylang ylang and flashing white musk with jonquil, tobacco flower, white sandalwood and a pale poppy.

Srsly. How could I not? My first LE. Oh, I'm such a virgin. I'm so excited!

I also ordered Eos. It's the scent of a blonde haired girl of about 15. Luckily, my daughter fits that descrip. It's a bit for her, and er, a bit for me. :O

And then 12 imps. :D

PLS PASS QUICKLY 45 DAYS!!!1

Posted by:scarlete.
Time:2:32 pm.
I thought I'd ask you guys first. (:

I need a "If you come near me, I may slice you to pieces" scent. It'll be my RHB scent. I'm leaning toward Bluebeard, but I want other options. What is it in the Bluebeard I like? (subbes?) Is it the Vetiver or the Lavander? It smacks me.

I looked at Wrath and those like it and the scent stuff she puts in it don't seem to fit this particular mood so well. I don't *want* to smell like cinnamon when I'm about to kill people! *singsing*

I want metal, iron, sharp. (the ozone would be nice, except it always smells like lemon to me.) It's ok for it to mellow some, I *do* have to live with myself.

I'm also looking at Black Anise : "The blue faced hag of the British Hills. She lives in the Dane Hills, Leicestershire, in a cave called Black Annis' Bower Close, which she dug out of rock with her own iron-strong claws. Dozens of huge cats prowl the Bower with her, and it is guarded by a great pollarded oak in which she hides so that she may catch lambs and small children to eat. She carries her victims back to her cave, where she flays them alive before devouring them. She drapes their skins on her guardian oak to dry. Her skirt is fashioned from the skins of her prey, and her bed is a high-piled bed of their bones. Black Annis' perfume is a mixture of damp cave lichen and oak leaf with a hint of vetiver, civet and anise. "

Snow Moon! Tee Shirts! Anniversary! Incense! Oh My!

subbes, I need your snail mail addy so I can send you your decant of Sugar Skull. I actually managed to decant 2 imps without spilling a drop on my first try. Go Me!

I'm also really happy that this update is happening BEFORE Saturday since I had visions of my being in NYC without being able to access a computer and missing out on anything/everything new. (Yes, I'm pathetic.)

Someone talk me out of ordering the Snow Moon tee. FAST!

I got my imp of Trick or Treat.

Just in the imp, it smells divine.

I'm probably going to order a bottle on the 14th. Maybe along with Sugar Skull, if I can get + test it before then.

So, I got my 10ml bottle of Horn of Plenty, right? And I excitedly dab it on Thursday morning, before I go to work...

...and then proceed to have the worst. day. ever. Speeding ticket, injuries, things falling on my face, film students being incapable of making decisions... you both read about it all in my LJ so I won't go on in here.

My imp was so positive and nice and stuff and it helped me catch an Arowana in Animal Crossing. This one, I don't know. I want to believe it's coincidence or something and that I won't have another bad day if I wear it again, but... argh.

Then again: I wore it today and: I bought a scratching post for torgo and some shirts... and the shirts were on sale today whereas last week they weren't, so I saved $10. But I didn't really need the shirts anyway so I could have saved $40 by not buying them at all.

This ambiguity is making me feel like the Voodoo blend ain't doo-ing, or something. Aidez-moi through explanation, those who know more?

Considering the conversation obvious and I had about CnSs and our Hallowe'enie orders comewhere around 7 pm last night, I am so glad this is happening as of today. I think if I had to deal with knowing that there would be no packing of anything for 72 hours (however good the reason!), I might have followed through on my suicide by xanax & fun-sized Milky Way bar plans for sure.

But I have a CnS and presuming that it actually was mailed out yesterday (vs. my first CnS what I got on Columbus Day saying my stuff was mailing the following day), then I will have my Pumpkin Patch and Sugar Skull on Saturday and I can be a self-absorbed bitch and not care about anyone else's order (other than my Blood Moon but at least we'll all be suffering in terms of shipping delays).

subbes, I will do my best to get your Sugar Skull decant done before I go away on Tuesday assuming I actually get the order either on Saturday or Monday. That's entirely in the hands of the Post Awful.

Subject:Did I mention how much I love winter?
Posted by:obvious.
Time:8:15 am.
Mood: jubilant.
I enjoy the smells of fall, but I really come alive in the winter. I don't complain about the cold as much as the heat, and I love snow. I LOVE SNOW! Feet and feet of snow. I even kick ass driving in the stuff (it's other people driving in the snow that I can't get used to). Anyway, these scents yanked at my heart and I placed my biggest order to date. This is just round one, I'm afraid. Midnight Mass is a gift for T, a ex-Catholic. He's always waxed poetic about the delicious mass incense. It's the only good memory he has of growing up Catholic. The rest are for me.

Sugar Cookie
Midnight Mass
Gingerbread Poppet
Midwinter's Eve 2005
Beaver Moon

I'm so proud of myself for not spending my paypal funds. The damage was actually pretty light. Selling my things early and making a killing on Harvest Moon helped a lot. Now my oil funds are gone until I can sell off more imps. Beth's tempted us with an anniversary surprise on Nov. 18th. What could that possibly be?!

I might join Snow Bunny and Stardust decanting circles. I'm eying Hearth (even though I see it turning out like Harvest Moon, too room scenty), Mistletoe (Hail Freya!), Yuletide and Snow White.

Remember my Horn of Plenty 10ml?

Arrived yesterday, sans CnS. I'm happy, woo.

But now, of course, I have to place another order. But of what...?

I've looked at the LUSH Xmas line and nothing's grabbing me. I might grab a few Letters to Santa for K, but I don't think I'll be making a big order. This is good. Now I can spend more on the Yule scents from BPAL!

Mood:whee!.
I'm not allowed to complain about not getting my stuff from the Katrina auction, at least not the Midway lot. I just got the frimps promised me...and I got:

Amsterdam
Hecate
Le Serpante Qui Danse
Belle Epoque

and decants of Love in the Asylum and Hexannacht.

Wow! Some people are really nice!

On the other hand, donors who don't send their stuff to shay_85 and make up excuses earn my wrath.

Here's the post from kebechet on the Forum re: Yule stuff

In response to a heap of questions regarding the Yule update, yes, it will be going up this week... either on Big Brown Beaver Day, or just a day or so beforehand. It will include the Yule LE's, as well as a few GC scents.
Can I be proud of the fact that I'm the one who posted the lyrics to "Winona has a big brown beaver" on the alchemylab thread about Beaver Moon *giggle snigger giggle*?

And it would be very nice if twas on BBBD so I can kill two beavers with one stone. ;)

I'm slowly going through the imps I purchased last week.

Anubis is the perfect Nag Champa scent. I've had my nose to my wrist for the last 20 minutes trying to figure out what the familiar smell was. I used to wear nothing but Nag Champa before checking out BPAL. I'm going to have to buy a bottle of this one!

Juke Joint fades very fast, but I really enjoy the scent. It's what Jack Kerouac would smell like.
